103: Childhood Essence & Pathways to Receive

I recorded this episode last night to share a few quick thoughts about my website launch and creating pathways to expand and receive. 
I was stuck on the About Me section on my website, and I was able to break through the blocks by reflecting on what came naturally to me as a child. Feeding chipmunks, collecting rocks, writing in my journal. I realized that most of what I love about my work now can be traced back to what I loved as a child. Sharing a few personal pieces of my story motivated me to push forward and finish my website! 
This is a way for me to receive and expand. In one place, people can find my art, services and podcast! It means that when I have an idea, there is a pathway for me to share it and receive compensation without overthinking. There are endless possibilities and I can't wait to see what's next!
I will always feel like there is more to add and improve, but this was ready to be seen. The feedback I have received has been overwhelming and heartwarming. I truly appreciate all of the kind words and the time you're taking to check out the website.

102: Finding Authenticity, Friendship and Community as an Adult

The theme that I started with for this episode was being open. I've been taking a flower essence with that name to be more vulnerable and to make new connections. I had recorded an episode on this for the 100th episode, but it didn't feel like I had the whole message yet, and I was right! 
I have been enjoying my collaboration with Emily, and Danielle shared some other collaborations that have come from the Spirit School Collective this week. I am also planning some art collaborations with a friend in the near future! Libra season is already bringing out the best in my relationships. My brother's birthday celebration was the first time we did an escape room as a family and we worked together really well as a team!
The location we visited brought me back to a time when I had a sense of belonging and purpose in my career. Waves of nostalgia and emotion have been coming over me as I made some realizations around this theme and also my search for community in recent months. Although I have a lot of online connections, I am really looking forward to doing more in person events and activities to feel more grounded.
As adults, we have less natural opportunities to make friends, so we need to know what types of relationships we are seeking before we start looking for connections. 
I am feeling a deep transformation on the horizon for our Remote Recharge healing energy session on October 6th at 7pm EST. We will be inviting aligned relationships, belonging and authenticity with this session for Libra season.

Cosmic Energy Report: Libra Season
I am excited for Libra season! As always, Libra will bring balance to the forefront in many ways. To get the most out of each project and experience, we will find value in both the lessons and the celebrations.
The upcoming energy will be asking us to put ourselves, and our creative projects, out there! We are taking a leap of faith, knowing that we will likely need to make some adjustments. Celebrate your accomplishments with people around you, no matter how big or small! 
As days get shorter and nights get longer, we may encounter opportunities for inward reflection and healing. There is light in the darkness, so keep your dreams in focus as you process anything that comes up during this season. There is a lot of tangible potential in this energy. Be fully present and connected to make the most of it!
Emily and I choose movies for each astrological season and we each chose some romantic comedies with Libra themes for very similar reasons. I can't wait for you to listen and share your thoughts with us!

100: Ten Things I’ve Learned from 100 Episodes

So guess what? We made it to a hundred episodes of Spirit Crumbs! I can hardly believe it because it kind of feels like yesterday, but it's hard to remember the first episode because I just go week by week.
As you may have noticed, I created a new cover to celebrate a hundred episodes! Thank you for everyone who voted. I may just have to use one of the runner up covers for another milestone! And have been thinking about doing a new intro and outro, but I'm trying not force things that are not quite ready yet. My website and a shop to buy my prints are coming very soon too.
I want to say a huge thank you to all of you who have been listening to Spirit Crumbs. It means the world to me. To think that I've done a hundred of these and some of you are still sticking around is really incredible! A true gift.
This is one of the most healing journeys I've been on, and I'm so proud of myself for starting it in the first place because, as we've been talking about the last few weeks, starting something is often the hardest part. I knew that if I was going to continue with this, I was going to have to be consistent about it.
Because I've learned so much, I figured it would be fun to do a list of 10 things that I've learned from doing a hundred episodes! If you've been thinking about doing a podcast or new creative venture (or if you're just curious of what the journey has been like) then these may inspire you!
The main message I want to share is that you don't need to wait until you have the best technology, the perfect cover, or a full season of episodes, to get started. What you have to share is far more important than a polished delivery.

99: Committing to Consistency or Inspired Action

I'm back with a regular episode! Today I am talking about a recent realization I had about the differentiation between consistency and inspired action. I've spent most of this year trying to find balance and return to my art practice. By shifting my mindset, I have been able to commit to my work in a more aligned and fulfilling way.
The structure I have created between the Cosmic Energy Report, the newsletter and my Remote Recharge sessions, has given me more space to play in between! I hope that this discussion about finding your version of consistency will inspire you to make some progress toward your goals.
Virgo season, and Mercury retrograde, will help us to determine what we need to stop doing and what we want to prioritize going forward. When we are clear on what our goals are, we can start making space for the necessary steps. I am really looking forward to some new routines for the fall so that I can embody the person I truly want to be.

98: The War of Art: Beyond Resistance - The Higher Realm

This is the third and final episode about The War of Art: Break through the blocks and win your inner creative battles, a book by Steven Pressfield. The author has divided it into three books that have been guides for three episodes: 
Resistance: Defining the Enemy
Combatting Resistance: Turning Pro
Beyond Resistance: The Higher Realm
In Book Three, Pressfield is talking about the divine and mysterious muse that brings creativity through us. His philosophy is that if we show up, so will the muse! Committing to a practice is not easy, but it creates space for inspiration and downloads. There may be days that you sit with your sketchbook or Word document and nothing worth keeping really happens, But after doing this for a few days, there may be a spark when you're walking the dog, or washing the dishes that you can use as a starting point for the next session! 
The universe wants to see us create and materialize the ideas that come to us. As humans, we have the unique ability to create. This is not a coincidence. No matter what the outlet is, we have a right and responsibility to channel our divine inspiration through it. There is an infinite amount of possibility when it comes to creativity, and how lucky are we to be the recipients?
The last part of the book is focused on the fact that typical hierarchies in workplaces and institutions don't work for artists. There may be institutions like galleries and museums that require certain steps for artists to follow, but there is no clear pathway to success. Instead of hierarchies, Pressfield suggests that having your own territory, or niche, is the way to find fulfillment. If you are following inspiration without relying on external validation, you have a self-contained and sustainable system. You are meant to create your own specific work that others will will love because it is divinely inspired. 
What you are here to create and offer matters. To the divine, and to me!

Emily and I are back for our monthly forecast! We are slowing down after the fire of Leo season to get grounded again. Virgo season is feeling like an opportunity to dock our boats and find solid ground before we officially let go of summer. We are feeling all the back to school vibes!
Emily outlined the weekly astrology for Virgo season and I shared my Tarot and energy forecast for each week. We each selected movies again that resonated with the mood of the season in addition to our forecasts. Our Virgo movies were very different and I'm excited to see how the season turns out!
Like Leo season, we need to pack our patience and allow things to unfold. It's going to feel sticky at times, but we won't get as frustrated if we've already slowed down!

96: The War of Art: Combating Resistance - Turning Pro

This is the second of three episodes about The War of Art: Break through the blocks and win your inner creative battles, a book by Steven Pressfield. The author has divided it into three books that I will be using as guides for three episodes: 
Resistance: Defining the Enemy
Combatting Resistance: Turning Pro
Beyond Resistance: The Higher Realm
In Book Two, Pressfield is mostly talking about the difference between the amateur and the professional. I specified in this episode that I view being a professional as claiming it as something you want to embody instead of narrowing it to only a full-time vocation. He talks about how you can approach a creative practice as you would a corporate job. You show up regularly, work hard, see the long-term goals, and don't just leave when you feel like it. Although I believe in a lot more flexibility, I can appreciate that he is mainly emphasizing the importance of prioritizing yourself. It will be uncomfortable, but so is anything worthwhile.
I feel like consistency is relative. I consider 2-3 hours a week to be enough consistency for my art practice as I gradually shift back into it. If I was relying on it as my primary source of income, I would definitely make it a priority and dedicate a lot more time to it. I just keep spending time with my materials and being in relationship with them, trusting that inspiration will know where to find me!
Remember that there is always room for improvement. This releases some of our expectations. As a professional, we know that process is the important part, so we are more open to feedback and help. An amateur feels that they know everything already and will take criticism more personally. I am definitely transitioning from some of the amateur traits into the pro!

This is the first of three episodes about The War of Art: Break through the blocks and win your inner creative battles, a book by Steven Pressfield. The author has divided it into three books that I will be using as guides for three episodes:

Beyond Resistance: The Higher Realm
In Book One, the concept of resistance is introduced as an agent of self sabotage that lives within us. It points us in the direction of our calling. The resistance is proportionate to how important something is on our path. One of my biggest fears is not fulfilling what I am meant to in this lifetime, what Pressfield refers to as the "unlived life."  
We can choose at any point to change direction and take the first step. Often, getting started is what holds us back! The more we defer to resistance, the more likely we are to find ourselves distracted and indulging in unhealthy behaviour to avoid acknowledging our calling. People who feel unsafe with the freedom of pursuing their creative endeavors sometimes turn to more controlling ideologies like fundamentalism. There is a middle ground where we can co-create with the divine for the benefit of the collective.
I appreciated the part of the book where he spoke about how productive practices like healing and taking workshops can sometimes delay our calling. We need to ask ourselves if these things are moving us forward or keeping us stagnant. 
The final point is that each of us is here because of birth. It seems impossible, and yet here we are!

Expectations and the Spectrum from Disappointment to Fulfillment
I have been disappointed in myself many times when I failed to make it out to a cafe patio downtown to read when I've intended to. I finally made it there last week and channeled a whole download about disappointment when I got home! 
I was drawn to look in the dictionary and thesaurus for clear definitions and an understanding of what it means. In doing so, I learned that the opposite of disappointment is fulfillment, or being pleased. In the dictionary, there was a separate meaning to "fulfill" and "please" oneself. This distinction was profound to me. Our responsibility to ourselves does not depend on the fulfillment of others.
I talk about how expectations and assumptions are the source for a lot of disappointment. Clarity and communication are the key to avoiding unnecessary pain. You can go back to my episode on The Four Agreements if you want to revisit some of these themes in more depth!
Ultimately, checking in with yourself about whether it is a capacity issue or a priority issue can help to determine why you are disappointing yourself or others. In relationships, if you feel that you have showed up to your capacity, then it may be that the other person has not communicated their expectations or that there is an incompatibility. 
Overall, I want to remind you that you can always try again. Disappointment is a sign that there is something you hope to achieve and can show you what is important to you. Having realistic expectations leaves space for you to be delightfully surprised when they are surpassed!

Emily and I decided to combine our monthly forecasts and Leo felt like the perfect season to spark this project! Emily will be talking about astrology and I will continue sharing tarot and energy messages for each astrological season. Emily and I will also choose movies that suit the energy, or that people with this sign would enjoy. It was so fun to see how our forecasts and movies overlapped!
Leo is a fire sign that embodies the phrase "seize the day" at the peak of summer. We may be intimidated by their ability to go after what they want, but we could all use a bit of that energy! Emily and I were both feeling that this season will begin with planting seeds, and be followed by self acceptance and ease.

92: Titration & Easing into a New Way of Being

The topic of titration has been circling around in my brain for the past few weeks. When my nurse practitioner used the term regarding my ADHD medication, it stuck in my head. I knew I would receive more context around it, and I sure did!
Titration is the process of finding the right dosage of a medication for your body. You start out with a low dose to see how you react to it, and gradually increase it if you do not achieve the desired effect. 
There are times that we are experiencing symptoms and need to change parts of our lives to determine what is causing them. When we are trying a new medication, monitoring side effects over a period of time allows you to see if your body adjusts to it or if it is not the right medication/dose.
Feeling stagnation, discomfort or pain can also be a sign that something in your life needs to change. You may be unfulfilled or uninspired by your work, relationships or hobbies. You can implement a titration process by gradually adding or removing activities or people. Start doing a sketch a day, or taking one client a week. 
Starting with the maximum dose or going cold turkey can shock our systems and drive us back to our comfort zone instead of moving toward our desires. Titration is a way to test the waters and decide for yourself how much of an increase you can handle at each step.

91: Rest is an Active Force

It seems like everywhere I look and listen, there are messages about rest. There is power in rest because it allows us to remove ourselves from the systems and structures that are trying to keep us too busy so we aren't pushing back. For Card Pull Friday on my @concreteandcrystals Instagram, I have been keeping the themes of Time Out and Emotional Sensitivity for most of Cancer season. This is very aligned with the message that rest is urgent at this time. 
In today's episode, I talk about sitting in stillness to determine what type of rest is best for you personally. You may be someone who finds movement restful. Meditation might be calling to you. It may even be time to connect with people that bring you joy! 
With the fire energy of Leo season around the corner, the urgency of the moment is to make sure you are engaging in rest that truly fills you up so you can show up the way you desire! Rest is an active force. 
The full moon in Capricorn tomorrow, July 13, is bringing huge opportunities for energetic upgrades and restructuring in our lives. I am feeling the energy already and allowing my body to tell me what rest is the most regenerative every day.

90: Take Time to Feel & Guided Meditation for Renewal

This week's episode is a compilation of a couple of clips. I have been processing a lot of what is going on in the world and allowing myself to experience the emotions that are coming up. 
I had stayed off of social media until after Card Pull Friday and didn't realize how relevant the messages would be for this weekend. I decided to share that 4-minute clip today as the messages were aligned with Cancer energy and today is the new moon for the season.
I wanted to pause instead of recording a regular episode, and I found myself thinking about guided meditations. It inspired me to find one that I made in late 2020 to share with you. I suggest having a journal handy during or after the meditation.
The theme is about renewal and tuning into your emotions. It never ceases to amaze me when things come together like this. 
Take care of your body and allow the emotions to flow.

It seems like Cancer season is starting off with celebration and stability. You have worked hard and have created a foundation for yourself. Take some time this summer to enjoy your friends and family!

The foundation may also be from downloads and insights that came during Mercury retrograde and Gemini season. You may be ready to hit the ground running with this newfound clarity, but make sure you are prepared for the journey before you hop on a motorcycle and speed to the destination. (Remember our backpack from last week?)
3 Empress
You will see your plans and creations materialize as Leo season approaches and you are ready to show up and share them with the world! if you take the time to create the structure first, the abundance can flow freely and you can keep making magic.
My guides used the analogy of recharging your batteries to remind us that we need to fill ourselves up and find support if we find ourselves going in circles. I will never stop being excited when things come together like this. The name of my healing energy session for solstice is the remote RECHARGE!

88: Radical Responsibility & Repacking Your Baggage

This week, there is a full moon in Sagittarius and we are close to summer solstice! I feel like these energies are present in the spirit crumbs I received leading up to this episode.
Last year, Leo and lion energy were powerful for solstice. Themes of being seen, confidence and creativity were telling us to shine! It feels like we are experiencing a bit of the shadow side to offer growth this year. Loyalty and pride are associated with the lion and we are being asked to look at whether we are allowing our pride to keep us from seeking support to break our patterns.
How can we be loyal to ourselves and own what is no longer working? Instead of spinning our wheels in frustration, we can pinpoint where the cycle can be interrupted long enough to find a new direction. 
The metaphor of a backpack is what brought me to this episode. We come into this life with a backpack of gifts and challenges. Then we carry it with us into all aspects of our lives. After awhile, it is helpful to empty it out and repack. 
What is taking up too much space or weighing you down? 
What just needs to be refolded?
What have you realized you need more of going forward?
Sometimes, we do need to pool our resources with others in our community but other times, we need to find other supports. You can only carry so much.
I am looking forward to a remote energy healing session to help us organize our backpacks and fill ourselves with supportive energies for the next adventure!

87: Rubik’s Cubes & Solving Puzzles

Sometimes I see something random and just know I need to pay attention to it. Even when it is something that normally wouldn't get my attention - like a video of Justin Bieber solving a Rubik's cube on Carpool Karaoke!
Once it came into my awareness, I started seeing them in every show I watched and decided to make an episode about them and how I can apply solving it to life. I feel like there will be more to come, but I could see how algorithms and knowing when to take shortcuts were lessons to take from the Rubik's cube.
I could see how my career in merchandising had parallels in problem solving and how one move can impact the whole. I am sure we all have these life puzzles that these themes can relate to!

86: The Present Moment & Being a Beginner

Today's episode is a little bit more philosophical in nature, and it has been naturally unfolding over the last few days. I allowed myself to rest instead of forcing myself to be creative on my Thursday off and it allowed me to receive some valuable insights for this part of my journey as I transition into my artist role.
You know when you hear something many times and it just takes one specific time for it to click? I think about time and how we only have the present moment pretty often. I've heard it a number of different ways. But, hearing it described as us being still in the present and time moving through us really resonated. 
I was gifted a visual of time and our perception of life being like a slide projector or a movie at a theater. Awareness and trust are at the center of our experience of this life. The more we trust the story to unfold the way it is meant to, the more it plays like a continuous film instead of slowly clicking through each frame. 
Part of what causes us to pause for far too long is the fear of starting something new as a beginner. We get used to the respect and level of expertise we have in our comfort zone, but our soul longs for us to stretch into something bigger. We aren't supposed to be good at things when we start and there is magic to bringing our unique imprint to each new endeavor.

85: Gemini Tarot & Energy Forecast

𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘁 & 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁
This week is the Gemini Tarot & Energy Forecast episode, during Mercury retrograde! The cards I pulled for myself today were related to this forecast. The full moon eclipse last week was in Scorpio and I pulled the Scorpio card today along with the frog, indicating a time to dive into our emotions and rest to allow inner transformation to surface. 
I have been noticing subtle but major shifts in myself as I'm holding better boundaries around my time and energy. There were a few moments that emotions came to the surface in the episode as I am moving through the final limiting beliefs around allowing myself time to create and rest. 
The cards for this forecast were from the Light Seers Tarot deck. They were very aligned with this deep internal exploration.

84: Animal Guides & Pruning Your Life

𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 & 𝗣𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲
This week, I was inspired to talk about animals. It turns out almost exactly a year ago, I released my episode on Animals as Spirit Crumbs! The themes of the episodes around that time are all aligned with what I've been talking about recently, especially resting.
The eclipse energy has been rough but I feel like there are some big shifts on the horizon. It feels like there are cycles ending and I need to keep leaning into my feminine.
I shared about how rabbits are so aligned with the focus for my art that came up in an Akashic Records reading. The other theme that came up was from the harvest cycle of the 12 houses in astrology. I'm in my 4th house, which is the house of pruning and weeding. It's time to cut back some of the many things we've started in Aries season with that fire & cardinal energy!
